PARIS ? Can finer gauge single jersey knits really get any finer? Austrian seamless apparel and circular knitter Willy Hermann thinks so, saying at last week?s Interfiliere lingerie fabric show in Paris that its R&D department is now looking to make new fabrics above the current 60G technical threshold.

Willy Hermann is a specialist in ultrafine gauge circular knitted fabrics of extremely high quality. The company worked with German knitting machine builders to develop 44G ultra-fine gauge interlocks in 2000 and then presented 50G and 54G fabrics in 2006. Last year, the company went even finer with a new 60G fabric as part of its superfine range which also includes high power elastane fabrics with as much as 30 ? 60% spandex content.
