Lenzing ? Lenzing is to build a brand new ?130 million Tencel plant in Austria, which will have a capacity to produce 67,000 tonnes of specialty Tencel fibre per annum and is expected to take 2 years to complete, writes John Mowbray.

The move is in response to continued high demand for this man-made cellulosic fibre, which has excellent environmental credentials, is increasingly used in the production of lightweight knits and is a bold, confident move in the current economic climate.
