Paris - DuPont Biomaterials has announced several new fibre developments for its Sorona technology including new applications for seamless outerwear and activewear.

DuPont Sorona uses renewable plant-based ingredients to produce its innovative biopolymer for production in to textile yarns to help reduce dependence on fossil fuels and petrochemicals and to provide a more sustainable sourcing alternative for retailers and brands. Production of the Sorona biopolymer requires 30 per cent less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63 per cent compared to the production of an equal amount of nylon.
