Milan - The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers has appointed Raffaella Carabelli as its president, replacing outgoing president Sandro Salmoiraghi.

Raffaella Carabelli was born in Sorengo, Switzerland. After earning her degree in Business Administration from Milan?s L. Bocconi University, she took her place in the family?s business, Fadis S.p.A., a manufacturer of yarn processing machinery, overseeing its sales management operations.

Mrs. Carabelli has been a member of ACIMIT?s Board of Directors since 2005, serving as the association?s vice president since 2009. She is ACIMIT?s representative at ITMF, the International Federation of Textile Manufacturers, and is a member of the Italian delegation at CEMATEX, the Committee of European Textile Machinery Associations.

Following Mrs. Carabelli?s election, the assembly expressed its warm gratitude to its outgoing president, Sandro Salmoiraghi, who guided ACIMIT with enthusiasm and professionalism for four years.
