The programe is part of the ?Digby Jones - The New Troubleshooter? and will outline how the former director general of the CBI believes Hawick?s textile industry encapsulates both the challenges and opportunities for British manufacturers.

Speaking to local press before the show aired, Hawick Knitwear?s co-owner and managing director, Benny Hartop, said that while Jones may not have identified anything the company was not aware of, his visit had initiated a rethink on future strategies.

In particular, Hawick Knitwear may look to bring forward its planned expansion into China and other parts of the Pacific region.

While the UK will remain the firm?s number one market, with retailers such as

Marks & Spencer already sourcing its its ?Best of British? cashmere sweaters from Hawick Knitwear, the company has made moves towards expansion into China, Japan and South Korea.
