Shanghai - Exhibitors at ITMA Asia + CITME usually make the most of the plethora of visitors to showcase their new technology. On this occasion though Taiwanese sock knitting machine builder Da Kong chose to keep its most recent development under wraps. Rather than being on public view, the i-toe, the company?s new sock toe-closing technology, was hidden away in a room with only select existing customers given access.

According to Sanna Lee, regional sales manager, Da Kong, the technology will not be made public for at least six months, which probably rules out an unveiling at September?s FIMAST exhibition in Brescia. ?This new toe-closing technology is currently on a 3 ? ins diameter machine operating with 156 needles,? said Lee, adding that the innovation would give Da Kong additional technology with which to compete with the Lonati Group.
