Brescia - Italian hosiery knitting machine builder Lonati has secured a €40 million with a textile firm based in Uzbekistan. The deal will see the Brescia-based firm supply 1,024 sock knitting machines to Uztex, a company which, founded in 2007, is primarily known as a cotton yarn spinner.

The order, which will be shipped in stages beginning at the end of this year, includes a variety of machine types including toe-closing models.
