BEDFORD - Knitting needle supplier the Groz-Beckert Group has announced the closure of its Exeltor subsidiary production plant in Bedford, Canada, effective today with the loss of 140 jobs.

Exeltor, which manufactured knitting needles for hosiery and large diameter fabric producers was acquired by Groz Beckert in 1993 when the Bedford, Quebec-based company faced serious financial difficulty.
