John Smedley has announced plans to close its overseas production operations
and bring all manufacturing back to its UK sites.
John Smedley is best known today for its high-class, fine gauge knitwear and is still one of the UK?s biggest knitwear firms, knitting around 430,000 garments per year with exports a crucial part of its business; it currently sells to more than 40 countries and is particularly strong in Asia.
