Zurich - The global recovery in yarn and knitted fabric production continued in the fourth quarter of 2009, driven by a growth in orders across both Europe and Asia. In total, global fabric production was up by 4%.
With fabric output levels in Europe up 18.8% compared to the same period in 2008, and output in production in Asia nudging up 5%, both regions outperformed South and North America which reported significantly lower output levels - drops of 17.2% and 7.3%, respectively. In North America?s case, this was the lowest output level ever recorded.
