Copenhagen – Swiss textile manufacturer Remei AG, which runs the bioRe organic cotton projects in Tanzania and India and the CanopyStyle Initiative featuring H&M and Birla round out an impressive Planet Textiles 2016 line-up, which now has less than 40 tickets available at the 400 capacity Copenhagen Concert Hall venue on Wednesday 11th May.

We can reveal that the final line-up for Planet Textiles 2016 will also feature Marion Roettges, deputy CEO and Head of Quality & Risk Management at Swiss textile firm Remei AG which runs the long-established bioRe organic cotton projects in Northern Tanzania and India. A special discussion run by Canopy will also look at the supply chain traceability of man-made fibres to ensure endangered forests are not used to produce man-made cellulosic fibres.

The final Planet Textiles program can be found here and session timings for the day are also available here so you can plan your day.

Remei AG is a well known user of organic cotton fibre to offer a range of ring-spun, combed or carded organic cotton yarns including mélange – as well as a range of knitted and woven clothing sold under the bioRe label. Long-term customers include Mammut, Monoprix and Coop Switzerland.

We wrote about the company back in 2009 when we published a special supplement for Ecotextile News.

Also confirmed for Planet Textiles is a discussion on supply chain traceability when it comes to man-made cellulosic fibres such as viscose and lyocell and how brands can avoid using raw material (wood) from endangered forests.

The session titled: “Follow the Thread: From Forests to Your Man-made Cellulosics,” will be moderated by Nicole Rycroft, Founder and Executive Director of Canopy – an NGO which works with business to protect the world’s forests, species and climate through improving supply chain visibility when it comes to raw material selection.

Delegates will hear from Canopy partners Birla Cellulose and the retailer H&M on progress in making sure that material from endangered forests doesn’t end up in textile supply chains.

Around 360 delegates from 33 countries have already reserved their place at the event. With a capacity of 400, Planet Textiles 2016 will sell out soon, so please book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
