Wakayama - Computerized knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki, together with its Italian subsidiary Shima Seiki Italia will participate at the ISPO exhibition in Munich, Germany in February.

Shima Seiki will be a corporate sponsor to the ISPO BRANDNEW Village, a special display section for presenting award winning innovations by newcomers to the sports industry.

On display in the company’s booth at BRANDNEW Village (BN04) will be the latest sportswear samples produced on its latest line of computerized knitting machines, including revolutionary seam-free WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and style. Nearby at its main booth (no. 538) a WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine along with a computer design system will be shown.

The flagship MACH2XS WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine features innovations such as the original SlideNeedle on four needle beds as well as the company’s patented spring-loaded moveable sinker system. It can knit beautiful, high-quality 3D Items with dimensional structures and details that are unique to WHOLEGARMENT®, all with very high efficiency while minimizing dependence upon labour-intensive sewing and linking.

The SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system will also be available for demonstrating its “all-in-one” capability to support all aspects of fashion design and production. APEX3 is at the core of Shima Seiki’s Total Fashion System concepts, allowing smooth workflow from planning, design and programming to production and even sales promotion. APEX 3 also improves on the planning process through photo-realistic simulation capability, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process using Virtual Sampling.

ISPO takes place from 5-8 February at the Messe München in Germany.
