Munich - The organisers behind the Munich Fabric Start exhibition have launched a new scanning service, which will be used for the complete digitization of fabric samples.

FABRIC.iD uses a new texture scanner, called xTex, and a colour scanner called can:scan, which together can be used to transform textiles into virtual data that can realistically reproduce the texture and colour of the materials.
