High Point - US circular knitter Culp has significantly reduced its losses in its second quarter, helped by strong growth in its mattress ticking division.

Losses from operations for the quarter were US$2.2 million, compared with losses from operations of $11.9 million for the same period in 2022. Total net sales were $58.7 million, up 0.6% compared with the prior-year period, with mattress fabric sales up 19.6% and upholstery fabric sales down 14.9%.
