Jakarta - Harapan Kurnia, the Indonesia-based vertically integrated knitted fabric manufacturer, has taken delivery of its sixth stenter from Germany's Brückner.

Established 45 years ago, Harapan Kurnia produces high quality knitted fabrics in line with a number of environmental accreditation processes including ISO9001 and Oekotex.

The company already had five Brückner machines across two separate locations, benefitting from the accurate automatisation, the accurate control system and the optimized heat recovery system that the systems offer.

"Harapan Kurnia is convinced of the advantages of the Brückner stenters compared to machines with lower investment from other producers," Brückner said. "(The company) indicates the better machine setting, the better quality and the good support as decisive points for their decision to buy now their sixth Brückner machine. With Brückner as their partner Harapan Kurnia aims for continuous product developments for the high end export markets and wants to keep their position as one of market leader for high quality knitted fabric in Indonesia."

Harapan Kurnia employs 300 people and has a turnover of €50 million per year. The company produces produces medium to high end fashionwear, swim and sportswear as well as ladies and menswear for both the domestic and export markets. Around 95 per cent of their products are knitwear with the remainder being woven fabric. Knitted fabrics are primarily cotton, cellulose and blends with up to 35 per cent elastane content.
