Migdal Haemek – Nilit, the manufacturer of high-quality Nylon 6.6, which is widely used in the knitting sector, has joined the C.L.A.S.S. Material Hub.

The hub lists fibres based on their innovative properties, whether these relate to performance or sustainability.

Sagee Aran, Nilit’s head of global marketing, said this “helps advance” the company’s vision.

The firm’s Sensil BioCare has been spotlighted for its sustainability credentials, with Nilit saying this fibre can quickly decompose in anaerobic conditions in either saltwater or landfill.

“Sensil BioCare will appeal to a market that is more and more demanding about responsible innovation as the new normal for a new generation of values-oriented businesses,” said C.L.A.S.S. CEO and founder, Giusy Bettoni.

Aran added: “Through this respected global network, we can rapidly connect with many environmentally responsible apparel companies. We can collaborate with them to incorporate Sensil BioCare and Nilit’s other sustainable Sensil Nylon products to create apparel that is consciously designed with respect for the planet, from the fibre through to the garment.”
