Wilmington - The Lycra Company, the global producer of elastane and other stretch fibres used widely in circular knit intimates, sportswear and hosiery, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Houston, Texas, in a move it says will cut debt and stabilise its balance sheet while keeping day‑to‑day operations running as normal.
