Raleigh - Techtextil North America is North America’s premier trade show for technical textiles and nonwovens, assembling all vertical aspects of the technical textile industry: from research and development, through raw materials and production processes and finally ending in conversion, further treatment and recycling. The event has become one of the leading industry platforms where manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and other textile professionals come together for three days of networking, education and innovation.

The 2019 edition will be held February 26-28, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The relocation from Chicago to Raleigh brings the show back to the Southeast and the heart of the North American Textile Industry, providing drive-in access for many leading global companies and a close proximity to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

North Carolina’s rich history in textile production dates back to the 1800s and today serves as the location of several of the most important global textile companies, industry associations and educational resources. North Carolina leads the U.S. in the textile mill industry with over 700 textile manufacturing establishments and over 42,000 industry workers. In addition, North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles, located in downtown Raleigh, serves as a hub for textile research and development and as a primary supplier to the industry talent pipeline nationwide. As a result of their influence on the industry, NCSU’s College of Textiles has been named Techtextil North America’s Official Academic Partner, and will provide support for the event’s educational programming and introduce show visitors to the latest research and developments coming from the next generation of textile industry professionals.

“The Lab” Testing Demonstration Area

A brand new show floor feature to Techtextil North America, “The Lab” will serve as a demonstration and learning area featuring equipment & technology for textile testing and standards. The curation of participating companies and educational talks is being led by Sam Buff, Director of the Textile Technology Center at Gaston College in conjunction with AATCC. Participation in The Lab will provide exhibiting companies with opportunities for additional exposure, and give visitors the chance to experience textile testing first hand, discover new testing methods, and educate themselves on the latest in industry standards.

Student Research Poster Program

The annual Graduate Student Poster Program highlights research done by students from the top textile engineering, manufacturing and finishing programs in the country, and has become a must-visit show floor attraction at Techtextil North America. This year, the newly renamed Student Research Poster Program has been expanded to include undergraduate students, in addition to those pursuing their Master’s or Ph.D. The program provides students from around the world with a platform to share their research findings with peers, potential employers, and sponsors. Select participants will also have the chance to present their research in front of a captive audience during the three days of Tech Talks, which will be located on the show floor and will once again be powered by The Nonwovens Institute.

Techtextil North America and North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles will co-host an evening of education and exploration, taking place on Wednesday, February 27th from 6:00-8:30 pm at The College’s building on NC State’s Centennial Campus.
