{besps}ss/karlmayerhks{/besps}ObertshausenHong Kong - The finest warp-knitted fabric in the world, produced at a gauge of 50 needles per inch, was the result of research work carried out by German knitting machine builder Karl Mayer and was available for viewing once again at this year?s Interfili?re trade fair for lingerie and swimwear in Hong Kong.
Following the development of its HKS 2-3E tricot machine in gauge E50, which was unveiled at ITMA Barcelona, warp knitting firms are now able to keep pace with this trend towards ultrafine fabrics with one of the first collections produced on this technology now available in stores. According to Karl Mayer, this high performance tricot machine has been well received by the lingerie sector. As soon as it was launched on the market, manufacturers were busy creating the first sample designs, finishing companies were impressed by how these exquisite fabrics could be finished so easily, and the product developers working for the big name brands were inspired by the performance features of the ultrafine fabrics.
