Chanel strengthens cashmere supply with Todd & Duncan stake

French luxury fashion group Chanel has taken a 40% stake in Scottish spinner Todd & Duncan, consolidating its upstream cashmere yarn network

Todd & Duncan is renowned for its luxury yarns

Kinross - Chanel is further consolidating its position in premium cashmere yarns with a 40% equity stake in Todd & Duncan, the historic Scottish spinning mill based in Kinross, through its Barrie Knitwear brand.

Control of the mill will remain with existing owner Xinao, creating a joint venture structure between Barrie and the Chinese spinner in which Chanel holds a minority share.
