Ho Chi Minh City - New US tariffs targeting forced-labour risks could impact global sourcing strategies for knitted apparel, with Vietnam facing higher duties and exclusion from a new textile quota mechanism.

Additional duties of 10% and 12.5% bow apply to imports from 60 economies with Vietnam and China falling into the higher tariff band, while Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia face lower rates and gain access to tariff-rate quotas (TRQs).
