Shanghai - Planet Textiles, the sustainable textile event which addresses the environmental and social impacts of the global textile supply chain, will take place next year alongside the giant Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics event.
Scheduled for 19 March 2015, the conference will take place at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai.
Jointly organised by MCL Global, the publisher of Knitting Trade Journal and Ecotextile News, and trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt, Planet Textiles first debuted in Hong Kong in 2009, with delegates from previous years including executives from Walmart, H&M, Li & Fung, Marks & Spencer, Esprit, Esquel, Crystal Group, Timberlands and Greenpeace.
Speakers slated for next year?s line-up include the sportswear giant Adidas, Bayer Materials and bluesign technologies. Other speakers from leading textile mills, brands, retailers and other organisations will be announced shortly.
Unlike previous years Planet Textiles will now be integrated into the same exhibition venue as Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, an exhibition that has previously has attracted over 69,000 visitors and 3,700 exhibitors.
The event also features the unique ?All about Sustainability? zone, which complements the Planet Textiles Summit and means Shanghai will be a must visit destination in March 2015 for retailers and brands looking to source sustainable textiles.
Planet Textiles 2015 will take place in English with simultaneous translations into Chinese.
