Americana ? Nilit, the manufacturer of nylon 6.6 for apparel applications, is to acquire Invista?s production facility in Americana, Brazil in a move that will improve the former?s ability to serve its circular and warp knit customers in the region. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
For Nilit, the deal also represents an opportunity to enhance its global manufacturing base for nylon 6.6 while also confirming its commitment to the Brazilian market. For Invista, the divestment of the Americana plant, which has been focused on the production for the Supplex brand, will allow it to focus its remaining Brazil business on production for its core Lycra brand.
