Teijin develops energy-storing fabric

Tokyo - Teijin Frontier has teamed up with Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd to develop what they say is the world’s first piezoelectric fabric, capable of converting motion into electrical energy. The new technology, which also has antibacterial properties, has a number of applications in the knitting sector with possible end-uses in sportswear, innerwear and socks.
