Virtual hub for Intertextile

Shanghai – Messe Frankfurt has launched an online platform to run concurrently with this autumn’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles and Yarn Expo trade fairs, starting from October 9th.
The centralised hub has been established to enable people to attend the event virtually if they’re unable to make the trip to China due to COVID-19 restrictions in their areas.
The Intertextile Hub will compile all of the fair’s digital tools to enhance the virtual event experience for visitors. People will have the opportunity to live-stream exhibitor interviews taking place on site, as well as scheduled programme sessions including forums and product presentations.
These resources will be categories on the digital space, enabling users to access footage even if they’d missed the live session.
The four key themes at this autumn’s fairs are: design and trends, technology and solutions, sustainability issues, and market information and business strategies.
Despite the digital hub being created to cater to those unable to attend, the fairs’ organisers still anticipate a good turnout to see “internationally renowned industry specialists”.
Earlier this year, Munich-based trade show Performance Days launched Loop, an online space that replaced its cancelled May outing.
Looking ahead however, Performance Days has said it’ll likely tie-in the digital hub with physical trade shows to give people the chance to either visit in person or tune in via the web.
