Munich – The organising body of this week's Munich’s Performance Days exhibition has outlined a series of new features designed to improve visitor access to the latest sustainable textile trends and developments.
Taking place at the Messe München exhibition centre on the 4th and 5th of October 2023, the total floor space has been extended to accommodate a new footwear section, additional stands and new features alongside the Performance Forum, the Sustainability Lounge, and the Media Lounge.
At the show, the new-look Sustainability Zone will have a selection of mini stands showcasing some of latest environmentally friendly fabric developments along with a special exhibition from Utah State University on the 'History of membranes and waterproof materials', a series of expert talks, and SAZsport’s 'Sustain & Innovate' sustainability conference.
Other presentations will include a report from a research team at the UK's University of Leeds which will update on its investigation into garment selling price versus physical durability, and the EOG’s sustainability lead Katy Stevens, who will reveal more about the organisation's Sustainability Data Exchange (SDEX) project.
Organisers will also publish the results of an industry survey that has looked at challenges and issues facing buyers when looking to source lower impact materials. The results of the survey will part of a panel discussion on day two of the exhibition although the questionnaire is still open for more contributions. For every virtual completed survey, Performance Days will also plant a tree.
