AUTUN – French lingerie and hosiery manufacturer Dim, part of the Dim Branded Apparel (DBApparel) group, has announced plans to shift production from its main site in eastern France to its existing facilities in Romania.
According to the company, the move will not result in any job losses with the 86 employees all redeployed at the site in Autun which will continue to operate as a logistics and distribution centre. The move is instead geared towards grouping production together in a single region to help cut costs and preserve the overall competitiveness of the company.
DB Apparel is also well known for its Playtex lingerie label was formed after the ?100 million sale of Sara Lee?s European branded apparel business to US private investment firm Sun Capital Partners.
The last couple of years have seen the company restructure its European operations with two plants, located near Barcelona, closing in 2006.
