to spiral, Knitting Trade Journal looks at the latest moves from large scale
producers such as India and flood hit Pakistan and examines the impact this may
have on knitted fabric and garment makers.
Global cotton prices have spiked by as much
as 61% in the past year with traders and mills stepping up their buying amid
the fear of falling inventories. Weather-related shortages in China and Pakistan and a curb on Indian
exports have also added to the supply constraints creating a ripple of adverse
effects through the global textile and clothing supply chain.
