Wakayama – Digital textile solutions provider Shima Seiki will exhibit at Apparel Sourcing Week 2026 in Bengaluru, India next month where it will present its latest design software.
The exhibition provides a platform for the entire apparel value chain, bringing together manufacturers, brands, suppliers and solution providers in one location.
Particular interest lies with efficient and sustainable solutions, and Shima Seiki says it addresses this growing interest through optimised product development workflows made possible with Digital Product Creation (DPC) performed on its design software.
DPC is achieved with Shima Seiki’s APEXFiz subscription-based design software, which digitally supports the creative side of fashion from planning and design to realistic textile simulation and 3D virtual sampling for flat knitting.
Using scanned data of actual yarn, digital products created on APEXFiz are a digitised version of sample making that are accurate enough to be used effectively as 3D prototypes, replacing physical sampling and consequently reducing time, cost and material that otherwise go to waste.
When a design is approved for production, knitting data which is automatically generated can be converted easily into machine data, for real-world production of digitally developed products. As with knit simulations, Shima Seiki says that fabric simulations of other types of textiles such as weaving, circular knitting, printing and embroidery are also very realistic, and many users opt to utilise APEXFiz alongside other 3D software.
APEXFiz also promotes automation and labour-savings from product development to prototyping and production in many areas, thereby contributing to digitalisation and sustainability for supply chains across several different disciplines.
Apparel Sourcing Week 2026 takes place from 7th – 8th October at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center in Bengaluru.
