Investment pays dividends for UK knitter

Derbyshire - UK luxury knitter John Smedley has reported strong growth over the last 12 months, boosted by a ?500,000 investment at the end of 2013 and the introduction of new software system aimed at enhancing its online presence and improving its retail business.
The company, which has been investing heavily in Shima?s Seiki?s latest 15G SWG-173X machines for fine gauge WholeGarment production in recent years, recently reported a 14 per cent increase in turnover for its most recent fiscal year to just over ?17.2 million.
