Western Australian pilot programme will expand process development and prepare for production volumes needed for partner evaluation of cellulose materials

The fibre has potential use on fine‑ and medium‑gauge circular and flat knitting machines

Perth - Australian biomaterials company Nanollose has confirmed that it has ordered and paid for all equipment required for the first stage of its planned Western Australian pilot facility, advancing efforts to scale its microbial cellulose technology.

Positioning its microbial cellulose as a drop‑in, incremental feedstock for existing lyocell lines serving the regenerated cellulosic fibre market, the company says it is now prioritising premises to install the equipment and generate operating data for a second, pilot-production stage.
