Wakayama - Computerized flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will be present at two upcoming key industry exhibitions in the coming weeks.
Together with its Hong Kong subsidiary Shima Seiki (Hong Kong) Ltd., the company will participate in the 27th Session of Spin Expo in Shanghai, where it will be displaying a knitting machine for the first time.
On display will be the flagship MACH2XS WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine, featuring Shima Seiki’s original SlideNeedle on four needle beds and spring-loaded moveable sinkers. MACH2XS offers higher efficiency and greater stability with expanded patterning capability while knitting WHOLEGARMENT items, and should provide an interesting technological dimension to the yarn and fabrics show with its capability to produce complete knitwear right on the machine without sewing or linking.
Also on display will be the latest version of Shima Seiki’s “SDS-ONE APEX3” 3D design system. APEX3 is at the core of SHIMA SEIKI’s “Total Fashion System” concept, made possible due to its comprehensive support of the knit apparel production process from planning and production to sales promotion, as well as its capability for Virtual Sampling. Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process. APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.
Also on display will be the latest collection of knit samples, including seam-free WHOLEGARMENT knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.
Spin Expo Shanghai takes place from 1 -3 March at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
Later this month, Shima Seiki will also be present at the Garment Technology Expo to be held in New Delhi, India from 26-29 February.
As well as the SDS-ONE APEX3 design system, the company will also be showcasing the SSR series computerized flat knitting machine, which is said to materialise the company’s philosophy to offer the most advanced technology available at an affordable price.
