Automation remains key for hosiery and sock finishing technology

Many of the latest developments in new hosiery boarding and packaging technology continue to focus on fully automatic and robot assisted loading of boarding machines.
The further development of modular packaging lines which provide end-of-the-line boxed items ready for stock or shipment, has also continued. Although this is a type of technology that has traditionally been found mainly in markets in developed countries, the lack of cheap labour in countries such as China means hosiery producers in South East Asia are also now turning to this technology as well as full steam boarding machines in order to obtain consistent levels of quality and appearance, which are vitally important for export markets.
