Australian biomaterials company Nanollose has completed its largest Nullarbor lyocell pilot run to date as it moves towards dedicated microbial cellulose pulp capacity

The fibre has potential use on fine‑ and medium‑gauge circular and flat knitting machines

Perth - Nanollose has reported significant technical and strategic progress with its Nullarbor forest‑friendly lyocell fibre during the March 2026 quarter, including a fourth pilot production spin with Birla Cellulose in India and downstream trials aimed at yarn and knitted fabric development.

The Australian biomaterials company is positioning its microbial cellulose as a drop‑in, incremental feedstock for existing lyocell lines serving the regenerated cellulosic fibre market, estimated at around US$20 billion.
